Position Title – Lead Security Specialist
CORMAC is seeking a Lead Security Specialist to join our security team. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing security operations, ensuring the protection of both physical and digital assets. You will lead a team of security professionals, collaborate with other departments to mitigate risks, and maintain a proactive security posture to defend against emerging threats. Your expertise will be essential in shaping and implementing security strategies that align with company goals.
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of security analysts and specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Assess and evaluate potential security risks to the organization’s assets, infrastructure, and operations, and implement strategies to reduce vulnerabilities.
Lead incident detection, response, and resolution processes, ensuring a swift recovery and minimal disruption.
Develop, update, and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective protection of company data and resources.
Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and trends, and adapt security strategies to address evolving risks.
Perform regular security audits, assessments, and penetration tests to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Work closely with IT, legal, HR, and other business units to integrate security considerations into overall business processes and IT strategies.
Develop and deliver security awareness programs for employees, emphasizing best practices for data security, phishing, and safe online behavior.
Evaluate and manage relationships with external security vendors and partners, ensuring solutions are robust and meet company needs.
Provide detailed reports and analysis to senior leadership regarding security operations, incidents, and compliance status.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in security operations within healthcare government contracting.
Knowledge of cloud security and securing hybrid environments.
Expertise in data encryption, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
