CORMAC is seeking a hands-on and driven Proposal Manager to ensure all of the company’s proposals are fully executed from start to finish. This role is responsible for coordinating the proposal process and responding to requests for proposals (RFPs); from preparing the actual proposals to coordinating their presentation to clients. This is a remote role.
The Proposal Manager will provide direction in proposal writing best practices to the proposal and technical staff, including brainstorming layouts and text development, task delegation, response editing and submissions, and other efforts associated with the process.
Responsibilities
Contributed to the evaluation of the company's probability of winning an award.
Manage the full lifecycle of a federal government proposal, from RFP release to final submission.
Strategize with all internal teams (i.e., Business Development, Finance, Technical SMEs, etc.) to develop winning proposals.
Plan proposal development and production support activities, including preparing the master proposal schedule and managing the proposal preparation process.
Manage the proposal team, assign proposal resources, issue effective proposal instructions to proposal team staff, and delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively within a proposal team.
Develop guidelines and processes for detailed pricing inputs, working closely with the executive leadership team.
Conduct daily proposal status meetings to review proposal status in the following areas.
Prepare status reports and briefings for management; prepare, present, conduct, and participate in reviews at all stages of the proposal.
Direct and participate in writing/editing/rewriting efforts as needed.
Oversight of the document libraries and content within the corporate proposal portal including bid and proposal materials, boilerplate, active and archived proposals, and lessons learned libraries.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, English, Communications or a related field.
Experience in the Federal Government RFP procurement process; experience with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), preferred.
Professional certifications; APMP, PMP, preferred.
Minimum of 5+ years of successful proposal management experience in a government contractor environment, including supervision and management of personnel.
Experience supporting Capture Managers and Executive Leadership in determining win strategy and evaluating the company’s probability to win awards based on RFP and proposal analysis.
Experience developing proposals utilizing the Shipley method.
Excellent writing skills and proven ability to understand and communicate technical concepts in a compelling, persuasive manner to evaluators.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in Federal government contract proposal writing.
Willingness to research and author non-technical sections
Proficient in MS Office desktop publishing and document formatting tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
