CORMAC Corporation is looking for a talented Proposal Writer to join our team and support our business development efforts. The Proposal Writer will be responsible for creating compelling, compliant, and persuasive proposals in response to government and commercial RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs. This role requires excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Works with BD, Capture, and technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to write winning proposal content.
· Develop proposal content utilizing the Shipley method and review cycle.
· Write, edit, and format proposals, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency in messaging and branding.
· Research, analyze, and interpret proposal requirements to ensure full compliance with RFP guidelines.
· Maintain proposal templates, boilerplate content, and other proposal resources to support future responses.
· Track and report on proposal progress and submission outcomes, continually improving proposal processes and content.
· Follow proposal schedules and deadlines, coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality submissions.
Required Skills & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Marketing, English, Communications or a related field.
· Minimum of 5+ years of successful proposal management experience in a government contractor environment, including supervision and management of personnel.
· Minimum 5+ years of experience in Federal government contract proposal writing.
· Experience writing and preparing Federal government contracts.
· Proficient in MS Office desktop publishing and document formatting tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
· Excellent writing skills and proven ability to understand and communicate technical concepts in a compelling, persuasive manner to evaluators.
· Experience supporting Capture Managers and Executive Leadership in determining win strategy and evaluating the company’s probability to win awards based on RFP and proposal analysis.
· In depth knowledge of Federal Government RFP procurement processes.
· Experience managing and coordinating the work of multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams.
· Capable of professional interaction across all levels of personnel, including executive leadership, and technical SMEs.
· Capable of working under tight deadlines, with the flexibility to work on several projects concurrently.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with the ability to work independently.
