Health Analytics Lead

CORMAC is seeking a motivated and driven Health Analytics Lead to join our team supporting Federal Healthcare Agencies in the development and deployment of data management and analytics systems. This position will perform data analysis to support quality reporting and provide ad hoc data analyses using exploratory data analysis tools in support of the Federal Agencies. In this role, you and your team of highly talented individuals will work together to achieve success in the reporting of standardized assessment data, quality measure data, resource use, and other measures of data.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytic oversight and quality assurance activities across multiple Federal Agency reporting programs.
  • Provide technical leadership on promoting data driven decision making that corresponds with Federal Agency strategic goals and direction.
  • Coordinate analytic team initiatives to increase data availability, including: NLP feasibility studies, data mining techniques and AI in Patient Safety Events (PSE).
  • Engage with clinical subject matter experts to assist with design and interpretation of analyses and to identify potential improvements to data collection and refinements.
  • Respond to requests made to Federal Agencies by priority audiences.
  • Translate product ideas into detailed requirements, prototypes, and strategy.
  • Reconcile quality reporting data from separate data collection systems for each provider to determine compliance with quality reporting requirements, through data analytic methodologies.
  • Lead publications from analytic planning to production (‘chartbooks’, ‘dashboards’ and ‘spotlights’).
  • Author ‘educational briefs’.
  • Assess and report on the feasibility of using unstructured data in analysis.
  • Synthesize and process large datasets from multiple data sources within SAS 9.4 Windows.
  • Build quantitative models with data, and communicate the results of those models to decision-makers.
  • Ensure the accuracy of analytic logic and documentation as a peer reviewer.
  • Lead modernization of public-facing dashboards and publications for more user-friendly visualizations and informative products.
  • Author in-depth spotlights to provide new analyses and highlight potential disparities in patient safety outcomes.
  • Lead integration of data across multiple versions of Common Formats to broaden analytic scope.

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least Master’s Degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Engineering or another quantitative field. PhD preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in designing, developing, evaluating, and processing analytics.
  • At least 6+ years of experience with healthcare and health data, have a passion to connect with, understand, and shape the healthcare industry. Supporting Public health agencies under HHS such as AHRQ, CMS, CDC, NIH is preferred.
  • Knowledge of AI, AI executive order, machine learning techniques, especially deep understanding of their benefits and drawbacks in real-world applications
  • Advanced programming/coding skills with SAS 9.x or SAS Viya, including experience with Macros and SQL/PROC SQL.
  • Practical experience with AWS Cloud, ETL, data processing, and database programming.
  • Experience conducting quality reviews of code, both from peers and self.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas (verbally and visually) in an easy-to-understand manner with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Data Wrangling, Data Modeling, and Data Analysis/Data Quality.
  • Experience documenting programming and task processes.
  • Experience transforming and manipulating data sets.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team player, ability to work with staff in several/remote locations across.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as client-facing experience and Team leadership.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Engineering or another quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of experience working as a Data Analyst or similar role
  • Experience working remotely using collaboration tools such as, but not limited to: MS Teams, SharePoint and JIRA.
  • Experience working with healthcare data, such as standardized assessment data, and quality measure data.
